A Vintage Romance by Sleek MakeUp

I was browsing the beauty isles of Tesco in Warrington and their (fairly) new Sleek MakeUp display playing with all the testers but not really planning to buy anything... until I saw this palette!

I love makeup palettes so much, and I love Sleek's. I did a double take when I saw this one... it was a "Oh that's pretty," *does a double take* "OH that is pretty," moment. I proceeded to pick up the tester, make a huge mess over my new cream coat before convincing myself, yes, I really do need another makeup palette.

The palette consists of 12 eyeshadows that are for the most part very well pigmented. It comes with a double ended sponge tip applicator, (which a lot of people throw away, but I actually don't mind the odd sponge tip; it does pretty much the same job as an eyeshadow brush at the end of the day.)

The palette packaging is the classic matte packaging. And I'm still sad they took away the cute waffle design off  their eyeshadows. Boooo! :( But to make up for that, the shadows have the cutest names ever!

And here are some swatchy swatches:

Overall the pigmentation is brilliant! I found there was only ones that needed a bit of building up to get the same pigmentation as the rest of the shadows and that was "Bliss in Barcelona" and "Propose in Prague".

Apart from that the metallic shades all glided beautifully for swatches and blended perfectly on the eye.

I found the mattes were a little tougher to blend and felt a touch dry; however it was nothing too major and it doesn't take away from the palette. Mattes in general are quite tough to get right and for a High Street brand, I think Sleek does them better than a lot of other budget brands.

The glittery shadows were a slight let down too as I hoped that gorgeous sparkle would transfer on the eye and into swatches, but it didn't. I bought the palette for the colours more than the finishes so it doesn't bother me too much, but it was supposed to be a sparkly eyeshadow, not a matte one.

Overall I really do like this palette. I've mentioned a couple of negative things but that's really because I wanted to mention the pros and cons if anyone was thinking of buying it. :) I love the colours, I love the smoky eyes it creates and most of them have a wonderful pigmentation! The golden colour on the lid and the purples in the crease look gorgeous! As does the silver and blues. I've worn this numerous times and it's definitely my favourite Sleek palette that I own. I think they are brilliant eyeshadows for the price and if you've never tried a Sleek palette before I'd definitely recommend doing so!

You can buy them in Tesco or in Superdrug stores, or here online for £7.99!

What do you think of Sleek's Palettes? And what's your favourite one?
I think I'm going to get the Garden of Eden one next, it looks lovely for the Spring!
